Happy Tuesday! Just a few things to touch base on:
1. THANK YOU to students and parents for engaging with our teachers and support staff. I'm hearing many positives about the connections being made and the learning that is still happening.
2. The next Fresh Food drive-through distribution is May 4, 2020.
3. We are working on getting registration and other school forms available online.
5. Spring Athletes: Mr. Hughes and the coaches are working out details to provide opportunities for you to take part in where you could still earn your varsity letter, numbers, pins, etc. for spring sports. More info to follow later this week and look for messages from your coaches.

Reminder: We will begin picking up student work that was sent home March 13 and dropping new work off beginning at 1 p.m. today. Please have your work bagged up with names visible. Work that is coming to you has been handled safely but please let sit until Monday, which is when student learning starts back up. Our new distance learning data hub is available on the school website. If you would like a hard copy of our district plan please call and we will mail upon request. Teachers and support staff are here to help our students learn and will be contacting you weekly to provide assistance. Stay safe Bobcats!
We are working diligently to complete our remote learning plan. Friday, April 17, at 1 p.m. we will load up the buses and vans with materials and make deliveries to those households receiving hard copy work. All kindergarten through fourth grade will be hard copy. All materials are in bags with instructions. Middle school and high school students will continue with the same systems they have been using since March 13. Teachers and other support staff will be reaching out to make contact with every family weekly. Please let us know if we can help with any struggles you might be having. Stay safe and stay home when possible.

An executive order was signed by the governor to close schools for the rest of the year. Learning will still happen remotely much like we are already doing. Please be patient. Details to follow in a few days.
Lunch/breakfast grab and go meals will be continued through April third in Burr Oak. The meals will not be available in Burr Oak from April sixth to April tenth but you can pick up at Sturgis meal sites during that week. We will continue to keep you updated.
This is a friendly reminder for students. Continue to do your school work while school is closed. Read daily. Teachers are checking online classrooms regularly. For those doing the paper version, your work will be checked when we get back to school. Stay safe.

Just a reminder we will have grab and go breakfast and lunch available daily from 9-11 a.m. Monday through Friday at the parking lot doors beginning today.
As mandated by Governor Whitmer, Burr Oak Community Schools will be closed from Monday March 16 through Sunday April 12; school will resume on Monday April 13. More information will follow as it becomes available. Thank you for your patients.
Due to recommendations by the health department we are cancelling our upcoming Wendy's family reading night on Monday March 23rd. Thank you for your understanding.
The Burr Oak Robotics team will not be traveling to Gull Lake this weekend. FIRST in Michigan, the governing body of the robotics league we are a part of, has canceled all robotics events in the state after the recommendation of public health officials. Currently, it is unknown when or if the events will be rescheduled. More information will be passed along to robotics team members as it becomes available.
